What is 100 Points of ID?
In some cases, if you’re unable to complete the online identity verification process, we may ask you to provide certified copies of documents that meet the 100 points of ID requirement. This is a standard method used in Australia to confirm identity.
You’ll need to provide a total of 100 points worth of identification documents, including at least one primary document. Documents must be:
- Certified by an approved certifier, such as a Justice of the Peace or solicitor
- Dated and signed, with the certifier’s full name and registration number (if applicable)
- Certified within two weeks of your application submission
- Scanned or photographed clearly, including both front and back where applicable
You can combine documents from the following lists:
Primary Documents (You must include at least one)
| Document | Points |
|---|---|
| Full Birth Certificate (not an extract) | 70 |
| Australian Passport | 70 |
| Australian Driver Licence | 60 |
| Proof of Age Card | 40 |
| Government Employee ID | 40 |
Secondary Documents
| Document | Points |
|---|---|
| Certificate of Australian Citizenship | 40 |
| Australian Visa | 40 |
| Change of Name Certificate | 40 |
| Medicare Card | 40 |
| Marriage Certificate | 25 |
| Bank Statement (with your name and address) | 25 |
| Property Lease Agreement (with your current address) | 25 |
| Utility Bill (electricity, gas, telephone - current) | 20 |
| Taxation Assessment Notice | 20 |
- Australian Driver Licence (60) + Medicare Card (40) = 100 Points
- Passport (70) + Utility Bill (20) + Bank Statement (25) = 115 Points
- Birth Certificate (70) + Marriage Certificate (25) + Tax Notice (20) = 115 Points
You only need to meet 100 points total – anything extra is fine but not required.
Documents must be certified by an approved certifier. These include:
- Justice of the Peace (JP)
- Legal practitioner or solicitor
- Police officer
- Chartered accountant (CPA, CA, IPA, NTAA, etc.)
- Other recognised professionals (please contact us if you are unsure)
Once your documents are certified, you can scan or take a clear photo of them and email to: [email protected]
Make sure the certification is legible and dated within the last 14 days.
