What is 100 Points of ID?

In some cases, if you’re unable to complete the online identity verification process, we may ask you to provide certified copies of documents that meet the 100 points of ID requirement. This is a standard method used in Australia to confirm identity.

How It works

You’ll need to provide a total of 100 points worth of identification documents, including at least one primary document. Documents must be:

  • Certified by an approved certifier, such as a Justice of the Peace or solicitor
  • Dated and signed, with the certifier’s full name and registration number (if applicable)
  • Certified within two weeks of your application submission
  • Scanned or photographed clearly, including both front and back where applicable

You can combine documents from the following lists:

Primary Documents (You must include at least one)

DocumentPoints
Full Birth Certificate (not an extract)70
Australian Passport70
Australian Driver Licence60
Proof of Age Card40
Government Employee ID40

Secondary Documents

DocumentPoints
Certificate of Australian Citizenship40
Australian Visa40
Change of Name Certificate40
Medicare Card40
Marriage Certificate25
Bank Statement (with your name and address)25
Property Lease Agreement (with your current address)25
Utility Bill (electricity, gas, telephone - current)20
Taxation Assessment Notice20
Example Combinations
  • Australian Driver Licence (60) + Medicare Card (40) = 100 Points
  • Passport (70) + Utility Bill (20) + Bank Statement (25) = 115 Points
  • Birth Certificate (70) + Marriage Certificate (25) + Tax Notice (20) = 115 Points

You only need to meet 100 points total – anything extra is fine but not required.

Who can certify my documents?

Documents must be certified by an approved certifier. These include:

  • Justice of the Peace (JP)
  • Legal practitioner or solicitor
  • Police officer
  • Chartered accountant (CPA, CA, IPA, NTAA, etc.)

** Estimated Trade Value After Fees is not a guarantee of actual sale price at the time of sale. For pricing details, please visit the ASX website. The price of shares fluctuates throughout the trading day, meaning the actual proceeds from your share sale may differ from the estimated value provided here (either higher or lower). The final price per share will reflect the market value at the exact moment of the sale.
*** Assumes shares are individual / joint held. For complex share sales requiring additional legal document verifications and regulatory compliance checks which are not registered to individual / joint holders (ie shares owned by a company, trust, SMSF, deceased estate or international shareholder), a surcharge of $50 or 0.5%, plus GST (whichever is greater) will apply.
